Synopsis:

In a comedic take on the Shafted title, this 2025 film revolves around a struggling stand-up comedian, Cody Shaft (played by a rising comedic star), whose career has hit rock bottom. After a failed performance at a small comedy club, he inadvertently stumbles into a shady underworld operation when he tries to rescue his best friend, Sam (played by a quirky character actor), from a loan shark.

Caught in a whirlwind of mistaken identity, Cody becomes the target of both law enforcement and criminals who think he’s part of a high-profile heist crew. As Cody tries to extricate himself from the mess, he ends up becoming the unwilling hero of a gang of misfit thieves who are just as clueless as he is. Synopsis:

In a dystopian future where humanity is plagued by inequality, surveillance, and corporate control, Shafted takes us into the life of Eva Shafer (a lead actress in her 30s), a brilliant engineer who once worked for a powerful tech corporation. She developed a revolutionary energy source, but after a violent corporate coup, she was framed for treason and forced into hiding. Now, she’s on the run, trying to stay out of the clutches of the corporation that wants her invention—and her life.

The film explores Eva’s journey as she seeks to recover her stolen research and bring justice to the corrupt regime that has taken over the world’s energy markets. Along the way, she discovers a secret underground resistance movement made up of former employees, hackers, and whistleblowers who have been “shafted” by the corporation just like her.

As Eva and her new allies plan a dangerous heist to expose the truth behind the energy source and bring down the powerful corporation, they must face not only the elite forces of the company but also the moral complexities of their revolution. Can they make a difference in a system that seems to have already sold its soul to corporate greed?
